The SymposiaMetrological Infrastructure (→MI) and Mediterranean Industry of the Sun (→SUN) will be held from Wednesday through Friday, June 15-17, 2011, in Cavtat, Dubrovnik Riviera, Croatia.
MI. The aim of the Symposium Metrological Infrastructure is to bring together officers and employers from National State Offices (NMIs) from the entire world and Regional Metrology Organisations (RMOs) to present their efforts and to discuss hot topics and challenges. Organisers hope that an unofficial atmosphere inspired with scientific savour will enhance mutual confidence and inspire the friendship between colleagues from distant countries. Topics for this symposium include:
Calibration and Testing
Certification and Accreditation
Environmental measurements
Traceability in Metrology
Emerging Measurement Technologies
Energy Efficiency Infrastructure
Legal Metrology
Quality Systems
Metrology for Health
Reference Materials for Pharmaceutics
Biometrology
Measuremetns in Transportation.
SUN. SecondSymposium of Energy Agencies of Mediterranean CountriesMediterranean Industry of the Sun, which will be located at the same date and facilities of the Symposium Metrological Infrastructure, will have a strong focus on the themes related to application of industrial electronics to sustainable energy processing. Contributions, special sessions and tutorial proposals in the field of renewable energy systems, electric and hybrid propulsion and energy saving are strongly encouraged.
A special session European Metrology Research Programme – EMRP: Energy Efficiency Infrastructure will illustrate the results obtained by the Joint Research Projects financed by the EURAMET (EURAMET → European Collaboration in Measurement Standards; European Association of National Metrology Institutes), responding to the EMRP Call 2009, “to advance measurement science and technology in the field of Energy”. The results of projects will open the way to new strategies for measuring the efficiency of energy consumption.
