MIE2.3 The Future of Legal Metrology

MIE2.4 and SUN.1 Energy Measurement and Standards
Programme Developer:

Up to five sessions are planned dealing with new and improved measurement technologies, procedures, standards and calibration strategies. Furthermore, uncertainty evaluation in energy measurement as well as modelling of energy transport, distribution (grids) and consumption are important issues.
At least, the following areas will be covered:

  • Wind and Solar Energy Conversion
  • Efficiency of Conventional and Nuclear Power Plants
  • Characterization and Measurement of Energy Gases and Fuels
  • Gas Grid Modelling and Reconstruction
  • Electrical Energy Transport, Storage and Grids
  • Energy Metering and Savings; Lighting
  • Education in Energy Measurement.

 

MIE2.5 Environmental Measurements

On Environmental Measurement two or three sessions are planned that will cover the following topics:

  • Remote Sensing
  • Measuring Principles and Methods for Environmental Measurements
  • Environmental Data Evaluation and Assessment
  • Education and Research in Environmental Measurements.
